A SoHo institution at the corner of Lafayette and Kenmare — equal parts daytime cafe, evening cocktail bar, and Noctem Group's base of operations for nightlife, events, and brand partnerships.
San Remo Cafe occupied the ground floor at 201 Lafayette Street in SoHo, between Kenmare and Broome, anchoring one of downtown Manhattan's most coveted corners. By day, it was a workspace-friendly cafe serving espresso, pastries, and Italian-inspired plates. By night, the heavy swinging doors opened to reveal a cocktail bar and restaurant drawing SoHo's fashion, art, and nightlife crowd.
The dual-format concept — described by UrbanDaddy as a place "you'll use for everything" — split the venue into a front cafe with wooden tables and a back bar lined with long green banquettes. Rotating monthly art installations covered the walls, and the cocktail program was helmed by a veteran bartender from Employees Only and Macao Trading Co., crafting drinks like the signature Brooklyn Cocktail #2 with Rittenhouse rye, maraschino, chamomile grappa, and chai-infused vermouth.
San Remo also served as Noctem Group's base of operations — housing a showroom, social areas, conference room, music studio, and executive offices. It was from this space that Noctem managed promotions, marketing, artist bookings, and event bookings for 1OAK and other nightlife and entertainment partnerships.
The venue hosted private screenings, brand events, and cultural activations including the Richard Hambleton "Shadowman" documentary screening and the Netflix x Rapture: A Boogie docuseries screening, bridging the worlds of art, film, and nightlife under one roof.
